Day 1: Arrival in Wulingyuan · Baofeng Lake’s Mountain & Water View
We checked into our hotel in Wulingyuan right after arrival. In the afternoon, we toured Baofeng Lake by boat. Sharp peaks reflect in emerald-green water. We even heard Tujia folk songs during the cruise. The lake and mountains create peaceful, gorgeous views. At dusk, we wandered Xibu Old Street, admired Tujia architecture and tasted local food including three-pot stew and kudzu powder desserts.
Day 2: Yangjiajie & Tianzi Mountain: Majestic Peaks, Overlooking the Vast Landscape
Early in the morning we entered the national park, heading first to Yangjiajie. Wulong Village and the Natural Great Wall boast steep, magnificent ridges that feel like scenes from martial arts stories. Then we took the park shuttle to Tianzi Mountain. Imperial Brush Peak and Fairy Scattering Flowers are iconic sights. Standing at the viewing platform, thousands of stone peaks spread out before us. We waited for sunset on the mountain, watching golden sunlight paint all the peaks.
Day 3: Ten-Mile Gallery + Tujia Cultural Experience
In the morning we visited Ten-Mile Gallery. We rode the sightseeing train along the valley, viewing oddly-shaped stone peaks on both sides, each with interesting legends. In the afternoon, we joined Tujia cultural activities. We tried on ethnic costumes and learned about Tujia traditions. At the end of our journey, we savoured the wonderful memories and said goodbye to Zhangjiajie.
