Foreign Tourist’s 3-Day Travel Diary of Beijing: Walk Through the Imperial Capital, Feel Ancient Chinese Charm
My name is Elina, a travel lover from France who is deeply fascinated by Chinese ancient history and imperial culture. This time, three of my friends and I, four people in total, joined a 3-day pure sightseeing group tour in Beijing. This 2-night itinerary is cost-effective with transparent pricing and zero hidden charges throughout the trip. Our tour guide Smith accompanied us during the whole journey. He is very familiar with Beijing’s royal history, ancient architecture and local hutong stories. With a relaxed and reasonable schedule, we fully experienced the grand imperial atmosphere and warm city fireworks of this thousand-year-old capital in just three days.

2. Daily Itinerary
Day 1: Imperial Core Tour|Forbidden City & Jingshan Panoramic View & Shichahai Night Vibe
·In the morning, we visited the most iconic landmark — the Palace Museum (Forbidden City). Walking through the red walls and golden glazed tiles, every majestic hall, exquisite carved railings and ancient courtyard carries hundreds of years of royal stories. With the professional explanation of guide Kai, we clearly understood the historical changes and architectural aesthetics of the Ming and Qing imperial palaces, as if traveling through the prosperous ancient times.
·In the afternoon, we climbed Jingshan Park. Standing on the highest viewing platform, we overlooked the entire Forbidden City in a panoramic view. The orderly imperial buildings spread endlessly, extremely magnificent.

Day 2: Great Wall Adventure|Mutianyu Great Wall Overlooking Northern Mountains
·We took the cable car to the peak smoothly. The ancient city wall winds along the continuous mountain ridges, stretching far into the horizon. We walked slowly on the weathered brick wall, touching the rough traces left by years. Standing high above the mountains, we enjoyed the layered mountain scenery and felt the tremendous wisdom and power of ancient Chinese engineering.
·The sunset dyed the whole Great Wall warm golden. The vast and stirring northern landscape made us truly understand why the Great Wall is regarded as one of the greatest wonders in the world. It was definitely the most shocking highlight of our Beijing trip.

Day 3: Royal Garden & Ancient Culture|Summer Palace & Yonghe Temple & Old Hutongs
·In the morning, we toured the Summer Palace, the largest and best-preserved royal garden in China. Surrounded by mountains and lakes, the scenic area features the long painted corridor, elegant Seventeen-Arch Bridge and grand Buddhist Incense Tower. Every corner shows the exquisite and elegant design of traditional Chinese royal gardens, quiet, healing and breathtaking.
·In the afternoon, we visited Yonghe Temple. The ancient temple with red walls and green cypresses has a peaceful atmosphere. The unique combination of Han and Tibetan architectural styles is solemn and exquisite. Listening to the religious culture and historical legends, our hearts became calm and peaceful.
