As a travel enthusiast from Singapore, I—along with three friends—signed up for a three-day, sightseeing-focused tour of Beijing. The three-day, two-night package offered exceptional value for money at just over a thousand yuan per person, with transparent pricing and absolutely no hidden costs. Our guide, Kai, accompanied us throughout the trip; he was well-versed in both the profound history of the imperial era and the local stories of old Beijing. The pace of the itinerary was leisurely, allowing us to experience both the historical depth of this ancient capital and the vibrant atmosphere of the modern metropolis.

2. Daily Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Beijing, Visit Prince Gong’s Mansion & Wander Local Hutongs
After a long‑haul international flight, the four of us safely arrived in Beijing. The city presents a spacious layout where ancient and modern buildings blend together, immediately sparking our curiosity about this ancient capital.
·After checking into our hotel, we headed for Prince Gong’s Mansion. This grand Qing‑dynasty princely complex features winding corridors and exquisite gardens. Guide Kai told us stories about the mansion’s historical changes, giving us a taste of noble residential architecture from old times.
·In the afternoon, we roamed Wudaoying Hutong. Grey walls, tiled roofs and old door piers show local residents’ everyday life. We tried Peking duck and local snacks at small hutong restaurants and strolled leisurely, immersing ourselves in the laid‑back street culture of old Beijing.

Day 2: Mutianyu Great Wall — Spectacular Northern Mountain Scenery
Today we visited the Mutianyu Great Wall. Less crowded than Badaling, it boasts peaceful surroundings and spectacular panoramic views. The cable car carried us high up to the Great Wall. The ancient ramparts wind endlessly along rolling mountain ridges, creating a breathtaking sight.
·The four of us walked slowly along the weathered brickwork. Layer‑upon‑layer mountains spread out beneath us. Touching the time‑worn walls, we truly marvelled at the magnificent ancient engineering.
·As dusk fell, golden sunset light washed over the Great Wall. The stunning mountain scenery became the most unforgettable highlight of our trip.

Day 3: Summer Palace for Imperial Gardens, Lama Temple for Ancient Temple Charm • End of Trip
On our final morning, we toured the Summer Palace, a grand imperial garden with picturesque lakes and hills. We walked along Kunming Lake, admired the painted Long Corridor and the Seventeen‑Arch Bridge, appreciating the sophisticated design of traditional Chinese garden‑making.
·In the afternoon, we visited the Lama Temple. With red walls, old cypresses and magnificent halls, it features a unique mix of Han and Tibetan architectural styles. The peaceful temple atmosphere calmed our minds while we listened to historical and folk legends.
·These short three days flew by. Princely mansions, grand Great Wall, classical gardens and ancient temples capture the unique charm of Beijing and left us many wonderful memories.

• Special thanks go to our guide Kai. He was professional and attentive with vivid explanations that helped us understand thousands of years of Beijing’s history and culture.
• The schedule was well‑arranged with a relaxed pace so we could sightsee without rushing.
• Thoughtful and patient, he solved our problems promptly and greatly improved our overall travel experience.
4. Personal Suggestion
• The Great Wall, gardens and temples all require real‑name advance reservations. Please confirm your bookings before travel to avoid disruptions.
• Attractions in Beijing are widely scattered. Try to group nearby sites on the same day to cut travel time and save energy.
• There is a large temperature difference between day and night. Bring a light outer layer no matter what season you travel.
• When visiting religious sites, please dress appropriately and follow on‑site visiting etiquette and keep quiet.
