1. Cost Guide
When we planned this trip on our own and checked prices from multiple travel agencies online, the estimated cost for two people was SGD 1080. After contacting our guide Riyue, he customized a private itinerary, pre-booked all attraction tickets and arranged private transfers. The total price came to SGD 920, saving us SGD 160.

2. Daily Itinerary
Day 1: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park - Yuanjiajie - Bailong Elevator - Golden Whip Stream
We entered the park in the morning and took the park shuttle bus to Yuanjiajie to visit Hallelujah Mountain and the First Bridge Under Heaven. We rode the Bailong Elevator downhill. In the afternoon, we hiked along the flat trail of Golden Whip Stream. The stream water was clear, and we enjoyed forest scenery at a relaxed pace without rushing.
·The peaks at Yuanjiajie inspired the floating Hallelujah Mountains in Avatar.
·Wild macaques live along Golden Whip Stream. Do not carry plastic bags or feed monkeys to avoid scratches.
Day 2: Tianmen Mountain - Tianmen Cave - Glass Skywalk
We took the long cable car up the mountain early in the morning, viewed the huge natural Tianmen Cave up close, walked on the cliff glass skywalk and enjoyed the panoramic view. We followed the mountain top loop trail before taking the cable car down to finish our trip.
·Tianmen Cave was formed after a rock collapse in 263 AD. Sun Xiu, the king of Wu, regarded it as an auspicious sign and named the mountain Tianmen Mountain.
·The temperature on the mountain is lower, bring a light jacket. Shoe covers are required for the glass skywalk, wear non-slip sneakers.
3. Advantages of travelling with guide Riyue
Riyue knows every scenic spot in Zhangjiajie well and understands local customs. He speaks fluent English. We had private car transfers instead of crowded park buses. He secured hard-to-get Tianmen Mountain tickets in advance and adjusted our route flexibly to avoid crowds. He shared geological and local folk stories and handled any issues quickly, making our trip relaxing and worry-free.
4. Personal Suggestion
• The weather in Zhangjiajie mountains changes quickly. Bring a raincoat instead of an umbrella due to strong winds on the mountain.
• There are many stone steps in scenic areas. Wear comfortable non-slip sneakers to reduce fatigue.
• Tickets for popular attractions must be reserved in advance; there are rarely walk-in tickets in peak seasons.
